Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in his own words:
We're already taking our share of the discretionary cuts as part of this debt-ceiling agreement, and those are going to be tough enough
Panetta told reporters at the Pentagon Thursday.
I think anything beyond that would damage our national defense.
He said savings need to come from entitlement programs and from higher taxes -- not further defense cuts. In effect, that puts the six Democrats who will soon be appointed to the committee on notice: don't screw around with this.
My reaction to above:
Hit me over the head with a baseball bat, for I can't stand this shit.
Well, maybe my title was a little bit deceiving. He didn't really suggest we eat cat food. On the other hand, what he is suggesting is that the Supercongress (I hate this word) find something else to cut in a spirit of peace and bipartisanshit. Hey! how about entitlements, hmmm.... sounds like a great idea.
I wonder, how many seniors must be reduced to eating catfood per useless F-35 we buy from Martin Lockheed?
